HP OfficeJet Pro 8022e All-in-One Printer

got a printhead error - and someone has said that you cannot replace this printhead.  Is this correct as I do not want to take the printer apart to try and clean it and/or replace it, if it cannot be replaced.

Hi @AceGooner1966,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are facing an issue with the HP OfficeJet Pro 8022e All-in-One Printer uses a non-removable printhead integrated into the printer, and HP does not design this model for user-replaceable printheads. If you have a printhead error, you can try cleaning and resetting the printer, but replacing the printhead yourself is not an option.

Steps to Attempt Before Service:

Restart the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer.
  • Unplug it from the power source for 60 seconds.
  • Plug it back in and turn it on.

Clean the Printhead:

  • Use the printer’s control panel or HP Smart app to run an automated printhead cleaning.
  • Avoid taking the printer apart, as this could void any remaining warranty.

Reset the Printer:

  • Perform a factory reset if cleaning does not resolve the issue. Be aware this will erase all printer settings.

Use Genuine HP Ink Cartridges:

  • Non-HP cartridges or refills can sometimes trigger errors.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
