Hi @WendyF63,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand your HP DeskJet 2800 series printer is showing as offline on your Windows 11 laptop but works fine from your phone, try the following steps to resolve the issue:

Check Printer Status:

  • Ensure the printer is turned on and connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your laptop.

Set Printer as Default:

  • Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners.
  • Find your HP DeskJet 2800 printer in the list, click on it, and select Manage.
  • Click on Set as default.

Update Printer Driver:

  • Visit the HP Support website and download the latest driver for your DeskJet 2800 series printer.
  • Install the driver and restart your laptop.

Restart Printer and Laptop:

  • Power off the printer and your laptop.
  • Turn them back on after a few minutes.

Check Printer Queue:

  • Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners.
  • Click on your HP DeskJet 2800 printer and select Open queue.
  • Make sure there are no stuck print jobs. If there are, cancel them.

Run Printer Troubleshooter:

  • Go to Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters.
  • Select Printer and run the troubleshooter.

Check Wi-Fi Connection:

  • Ensure your laptop is connected to the same network as your printer.
  • If you're using a firewall or antivirus software, it might be blocking the printer. Temporarily disable it and see if that resolves the issue.

Reinstall Printer:

  • Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners.
  • Remove the HP DeskJet 2800 printer from the list.
  • Re-add the printer by selecting Add device and following the on-screen instructions.

Refer to this document: HP DeskJet 2800 All-in-One Printer series User manual

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
