Hello Sandytechy20,

Early on in the steps, I learned for sure that this unit is out of warranty. Despite that I wanted to ensure nothing was missed.

I carefully attempted to follow each of the several steps you outlined and was not successful in freeing up the carriage return. It, as you suggested in closing remarks that it may well be a hardware problem. It certainly does not want to budge.

It was a good printer, scanner in earlier times as I remember and for that reason and because money to replace it is minimal, a try at recovery was worth the effort.

Thank you for your guidance. It was very helpful.
