We recently had to buy new printer so I took the ink out of the old one to put in the new one (same Model) and it will not accept ink Cartridge. Is there any way around this? OficeJet Pro 8720

Welcome to HP Support Community,

 

Are you using regular Ink cartridges or using HP Instant ink cartridges. 

Have you tried to clean the ink cartridge contacts?

Did you try to update the printer firmware?

 

You may follow the steps suggested from this support document - Ink Cartridge Errors
