I replaced 2 cartridges and printer says no cartridges are installed.  I put the old cartridges back in and it still says that.  I removed cartridges, cleaned contacts and contacts in printer, cleaned print head, it still says no cartridges.  What do I do now?

Hi @inkman1

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you with the "Cartridge not installed" error.

Appreciate you trying the steps. As the issue persists with the old cartridges as well, this could be a printhead issue.

Have you tried cleaning the printhead manually? If you haven't, please try step# 8 and 9 from this document

Also, try updating the printer's firmware. Refer to this document for steps -  HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
