Thanks for reaching out to us on HP Support Forums. 🙂
I understand that you have an HP DeskJet 2600 All-in-One Printer. I read that the printing is fine but the printer prints the status report in German or Dutch. Not worry, I'll do my best to help you.
- Is the printer connected via USB or wirelessly?
If you have installed the full featured drivers for the printer, then there should be an HP printer assistant. HP Printer Assistant is printer management software that installs with your Windows HP print driver. With it, you can scan documents and photos, order supplies, check ink levels, and more. Refer to these frequently asked questions for more information about HP Printer Assistant.
Figure : Example of HP Printer Assistant
If the above figure, you can see the "Printer home page" option (globe). Click on that should display the printer page (also called as Embedded Web Server). Please check if the contents of the page are in English or German.
I suggest you to update the firmware on your printer. Please download and install the firmware update via this link. The printer should be restarted after the firmware update.
I sincerely hope this fixes the issue. Let me know the outcome.

Thanks for the info, I also had German as the status language, your link has solved it. But, I'm very disappointed with HP as their customer support could not help me, I spent ages trying to find a solution and eventually resorted to Google where I found your advice. If HP supply a printer with the wrong status language then there should be a clear, defined link provided to show how to change the language.
