I can't use compatible ink cartridges on my Officejet pro 8725 due to the dinamic security.

I want to know if there is a method to disable this feature (firmware downgrade? patch? other?) that let me use the cartridges I want (not enforced to use HP's ones)

Hi,

You cannot disable the Dynamic Security feature for any 8725 printer manufactured after December 1, 2016:

You may use Non-HP cartridges as long as it has an original HP security chip or unmodified HP electronic circuitry, please check with your supplier to ensure your cartridge have a such.

Hi Shlomi,

 I bought the cartridges a few months ago (certainly after December 1, 2016) and no one told me that the cartridges could have gone wrong.

It is possible to install an old firmware to bypass this check until the end of the life of these new cartridges?

For the next I will verify in advance that they are compatible.

It is not the cartridge manufacture date.

 

Any printer manufactured after December 1, 2016 is Dynamic Security enabled and that could not be changed and downgrading a printer firmware is not possible.

 

The printer only accepts a cartridge that has an original HP security chip or unmodified HP electronic circuitry, any Non-HP cartridge not meeting these terms will be rejected.
