Microsoft Windows 10 in S Mode

Toshiba laptop says Envy 6052 printer is in error state. I've unplugged the printer for a few seconds and plugged it back in. It printed a pdf document, but will not print any downloaded pictures i've saved.

Hi @TS654,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

We understand that your HP ENVY 6052 printer is showing an “error state” on your Windows 10 in S Mode Toshiba laptop, and while it printed a PDF document successfully, it won’t print saved pictures. Let’s walk through some steps to address this issue.

Step 1: Confirm Printer Status

  1. Ensure the printer is powered on and connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your laptop.
  2. Make sure no error messages (like paper jams or low ink warnings) appear on the printer display or in HP Smart.

Step 2: Restart the Print Spooler

  1. On your laptop, press Windows + R, type services.msc, and hit Enter.
  2. Scroll down to Print Spooler, right-click it, and select Restart.

Note: In S Mode, you may have limited access to some system tools.

Step 3: Use the HP Smart App

  1. Open or install the HP Smart App from the Microsoft Store.
  2. Add your printer if it's not already listed.
  3. From HP Smart, click Print Photos, locate your image, and try printing again

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
