Hi @StephB3,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The error code "0x80070005" typically indicates a permissions issue on your computer. When it occurs while trying to print a photo but not while printing regular documents, it may be related to the software or settings specific to the photo printing application you're using. Here are some steps you can try to resolve this issue.
Restart Your Computer and Printer: Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve temporary issues. Try turning off both your computer and the HP ENVY 4500 printer, and then turn them back on.
Update Printer Drivers: Ensure that you have the latest printer drivers installed. You can download the latest drivers from the HP website or use the built-in driver update feature in your operating system.
Check for Windows Updates: Ensure that your Windows operating system is up to date. Sometimes, Windows updates can include fixes for printer-related issues.
Use the Default Photo Viewer: Try using the default photo viewer or a different photo editing application to print photos. Sometimes, third-party photo printing software may have compatibility issues.
Check Printer Permissions: Make sure that your user account has the necessary permissions to access and print photos. You can do this by:
- Right-clicking on the photo application you're using and selecting "Run as administrator."
- Ensuring that you have the proper permissions to access the photo file itself.
Disable User Account Control (UAC): Temporarily disabling UAC may help if the issue is related to permission restrictions. However, keep in mind that this is not recommended for security reasons. To disable UAC temporarily, follow these steps:
- Open the Control Panel.
- Go to "User Accounts."
- Click on "Change User Account Control settings."
- Lower the slider to "Never notify" (lowest setting).
- Restart your computer.
Check Firewall and Antivirus Software: Sometimes, security software can block certain printer functions. Make sure that your firewall or antivirus software is not blocking the photo printing process. You may need to add exceptions or temporarily disable the software for testing purposes.
Remember to re-enable any settings or security measures that you disabled for testing purposes to maintain the security of your computer.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
