I just wanted to know if this deskjet model is compatible with Windows 7? I am currently on an older desktop computer (HP) that has Vista OS on it and the printer is connected and even though the print cartridge has been in the printer since probably 2010 and has not been used, it's not completly dried out. I ran a test print page but it is hard to make out what it says, something about the drivers, anyway I was wondering about compatibility with Win7. I love this HP printer and I'm going to buy a new cartridge and then run another test page. This HP printer has been a trooper and the the desktop computer is also an HP which was my fathers and he barley got to use it before he passed and I refuse to get rid of it, it's like new only it's almost 10 years old. Sorry to babble on. Also when an HP product is at it's end of life support like printers, is there a recommendation for a third party for updated drivers etc. ? Thanks

Hello Sweets50,
I see that there is no Full Featured Software available for your printer for Vista and Windows 7 OS.
However you may be able to install the in-built driver for the above mentioned OS. Click on the below URL for steps that should help you.

Hello and thanks for responding. Unfortunatly IE is outdated so it's not finding any windows anything (if that makes sense). I installed the only version of firefox that this system would accept and that has been much better. I was hoping if I upgraded to Win7 that this printer would still work but I don't think I'm going to do it. I forgot to mention that I had already tried going to the link that you sent me and that won't work. An updated driver or one that would work for this printer using Win 7 and not having the software was what I was hoping but I guess I would need the software as well to reinstall, right? Kind of makes sense...duh! LOL!!! I appreciate the help, thanks again.

Hello, thanks for sending the link for Linux. Not sure if I'm going to do anything with this system but I appreciate the help and information. I am going to click the "accept the solution" button below because I'm sure this will work for others. Also I appeciate the straight forward help and answers that I receive from the HP community (unlike Microsoft community).
Thanks again!
