the cartridges installed a few months back.. sat for a while.. pc problem prevented connecting and initializing new printer till now.. (bad cd drive drawer.. fixed today.. ) Initialized today... downloads registered user etc.. Will not print !! ... tried every solution offered by HP.. cleaned heads etc.. Thank you sabertooth 04... I did several of the steps in trying to get the cartridges to freely print (some recommended by your site and some via youtube videos on specific hp 2130 series printers.. )  but I think using just a little dish soap.. like a drop or two in small dish of hot water for both cartridges at first looked like it might work but soon the quality after several sample runs *(after going thru several cleaning and eval of the print samples.. went downhill) all runs of one sample page of the hp test patterns.. looked worse... used half of all the ink.. and it got worse.. soaked in warm water for an hour.. yellow stopped working.. so  I am going to go get  new cartridges.. simply.. I  just left them sit too long..

thanks for your efforts and the forum. GF  * warn others not to use any even small am'ts of dish soap.. I would have tried and still might pick up some isopropyl alcohol ... just a few drops in a small amount of warm/hot water.. might work but I will need new ink any way.. thanks again.

Thanks for the honors.. ;I would never bad mouth any product no matter how badly things seem to work or not work... so I accept others' opinions and I can learn from more experienced people.

I have found the black no longer works.. I have had it out a bunch of times cleaning  and letting it soak in a little isopropyl alcohol and water to soften the dried ink ... I assume the electrical contacts have been compromised... and are not making contact.. the test print pages reveal all colors except black work.. black pattern on the far righ is very light and the printed words at the top are barely even able to be seen.  I have done cleaning and align of heads many times.. used 80% of the ink.. I am wondering how the contacts got damaged. I have used a q-tip and a drop of alcohol to clean them ( on both the cartridge and contacts on the other side.. to no avail.. I will have to get new cartridges.. Have found vids of how to diy refill kits to refill.. useless on my black and takes a hack saw and a lot of patience and skill to get the lid off.. so new cartridges for me.. Thanks sabertooth for your help and input.. Gf
