I have recently moved countries and the cartridges 178 are not avaiable here.  If you purchase this same printer in my new country the cartridge is 564.  However, if I use these cartridges I just get an incompatible cartridge message.  It seems ridiculous to be unable to take your printer to a new country.  Is there an override or driver update I can use, so I can use the 564 cartridges instead?

You will need to contact HP in the country that you are in & ask for a region reset.

This is covered under the ink cartridge warranty.

Thanks for the reply.  Unfortnately, a region reset cant be performed on a printer that has 5 cartridges.  So I have a perfectly good printer that I have to throw away or purchase the cartridges from overseas.  Absolutely ridiculous outcome.
