Hi @Poetrygirl810,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Double printing lines on top of each other can be caused by a variety of issues with your printer. Here are some troubleshooting steps to help you resolve this problem with your HP ENVY Photo 7155.
- Check for Firmware Updates: Ensure that your printer has the latest firmware installed. Sometimes, firmware updates can address printing issues.
- Check Print Settings: Review your print settings to ensure they are correct. Check for any settings that might be causing double printing or misalignment.
- Alignment and Calibration: Perform a print head alignment and calibration. Most printers, including the HP ENVY series, have options in the settings menu to calibrate the print heads and align them properly. Refer to your printer's user manual for instructions.
- Clean the Print Heads: If there's any dried ink or debris on the print heads, it can cause printing issues. Use your printer's built-in cleaning function to clean the print heads.
- Inspect the Ink Cartridges: Check the ink cartridges for any issues. Make sure they are properly installed and have sufficient ink. Replace any empty or faulty cartridges.
- Paper Quality and Type: Ensure you're using the correct type and size of paper for your print job. Low-quality or incompatible paper can cause print issues.
- Software Troubleshooting: If the problem persists, try printing from a different software application or device to see if the issue is specific to one program or device.
- Driver Update: Ensure you have the latest printer driver installed on your computer. Visit the HP website and download and install the most up-to-date driver for your printer model.
- Power Cycle: Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, wait a minute, then plug it back in and turn it on. Sometimes power cycling can resolve various issues.
- Factory Reset: If all else fails, you can perform a factory reset on your printer. Refer to your printer's manual for instructions on how to do this.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
