I am trying to print a booklet from a pdf file.  When I print double sided the pages print upside down.  Front of page faces up and back of page faces down.

How can I get it to print so I can form a booklet?

Hi @roza

I'd be happy to help you with your duplex settings. It sounds like you will need to change from short edge to long edge binding. I found something that might help you with these settings: Duplex Printing with Long Edge and Short Edge Settings.

I hope this helps.

I don't know if the local protocol is to start new threads or to continue existing ones if the context is relevant.

I am encountering the same issue that @roza reported,  on the Universal Print Driver PCL6 with an OfficeJetPro X576dw.

I suspect that the answer suggested to the previous report would be the right one - but...  at least on the current version, when you enable booklet printing, the "Flip Up" checkbox that controls whether it's going to use long or short edge, is both un-checked (which should mean, in context, the short ege - except it doesnt seem to)  and disabled.

It does however print correctly using the native driver with exactly the same settings as on the Universal Driver.

Best regards

Dave.

I am having a similar problem with a laserjet pro M252dw.   I have trawled through the forums and found little or no help.  The only thing which came close to helping was a suggestion that some drivers are faulty and need to be changed.  However, I feel that in my case it may well be a problem of user ignorance.  Could somebody please just list the settings we should be using.

questions-  If I want to print four pages on one a4 sheet should the original text be on a5, or should it be a4 and then the hp software shrinks it to half a4 to fit? because it is shrinking down to smaller than the original text this seems logical.

Should the paper orientation be portrait (as the individual pages are portrait) or landscape, as each page would be portrait, but the two portrait orientated pages should be printed on one landscape orientated sheet.   I have tried both ways but somehow it seems to come out the same anyway.

Should the double page printing be set to flip on the short side (it is short side of the physical sheet of paper being printed on, but long side if you take the pages being printed)

Somewhere there should be a simple answer as to what the correct settings should be, and if we follow those settings and it still doesn't work, then we can look for further answers.

I have an HP OfficeJet Pro 8710 that I am trying to print a booklet from a pdf file.  When I print double sided the pages print upside down.  Front of page faces up and back of page faces down. Looking at the other solutions none of them work. I'm using Windows 10.

How can I get it to print so I can form a booklet?
