Hi @seemag

Welcome to the HP support community.

I understand you're experiencing an issue with your HP device, and I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. I'm here to help you today.

The "Encryption Credentials Expired" message on your HP OfficeJet Pro 8025e indicates an issue with the printer's network security settings. Here are steps you can take to resolve this problem:

Restart Your Printer and Router:

  • Turn off your printer and unplug it from the power source. Restart your router as well. After a minute, plug the printer back in and turn it on.

Reset Network Settings on the Printer:

  • On the printer’s control panel, go to Setup > Network > Restore Network Defaults. This will reset the network settings, allowing you to reconnect to your Wi-Fi network.

Reconnect to Wi-Fi:

  • After resetting, use the Wireless Setup Wizard in the printer’s menu to reconnect to your Wi-Fi network. Make sure you enter the correct Wi-Fi password.

Update Printer Firmware:

  • Visit the HP support website to check for any firmware updates for your printer model. Follow the instructions to download and install any available updates.

Reinstall Printer on macOS:

  • On your Mac, go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
  • Remove the HP OfficeJet Pro 8025e from the list by selecting it and clicking the minus (-) button.
  • Click the plus (+) button to add the printer back, making sure you select the correct model from the available options.

Check for MacOS Updates:

  • Ensure your macOS is up to date. Go to the Apple menu > About This Mac > Software Update to check for and install any updates.

Check Network Security Settings:

  • If you have access to your router settings, check the security protocol (WPA2 is recommended) and make sure it’s compatible with your printer.

Use HP Smart App:

  • If you haven’t already, consider downloading the HP Smart app for macOS. It may help guide you through reconnecting and managing the printer.

I hope this helps! Keep me posted.

HP printers have a self signed security certificate installed. That certificate will expire at some pointm, they are not eternal. You need to create a new certificate.

When you print from macOS, an Encryption Credentials Expired error message may display and you are unable to print. This error displays when the Embedded Web Server, or EWS, has an expired certificate. For other helpful videos go to https://youtube.com/hpsupport. More support options for your HP ...
