I have a HP Envy 4522 under Windows10 64 bit.
Yesterday I replaced the ink cartridges with original HP cartridges. From that moment on I can not print in color and no automatic double sided, both under windows 10. when I print from another pc in my network with windows 7 or from my android tablet everything works fine.
I uninstalled the printer, downloaded new software from HP and installed this but the problem remains.
what else can/must I do to get my envy working under windows 10?

Hi @langeopa
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Try these steps -
Step 1 HP Print and Scan Doctor -
Click on this link to download and run HP Print and Scan Doctor
Step 2 Re-install the printer drivers -
1. In the search box, type and open "Uninstall a Program".
2. Look for HP Printer software.
3. Right-click to uninstall.
4. In the search box, type and open “Devices and printers”.
5. In the Devices and Printers, look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose “Delete” or “Remove Device”.
6. Open the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.
7. Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”).
8. Click on the "Drivers" tab.
9. Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click “Remove” at the bottom.
10. Select Ok.
11. Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows.
12. Close Devices and Printers Once the software and drivers are removed.
13. Restart the computer.
14. Download and install the software and drivers from here.
15. Click on the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

thank you for answering Asmita. I followed the instructions carefully but no result.
I repeated it 5 times but still no result. the only result untill that time was that I passes my Instant Ink forfait of 50 pages monthly.
however, the problem is solved now:
I uninstalled all HP envy software and restarted the HP desktop. After that I used Revo uninstaller to clean up all possible rests of the previous installation.
Having done this I used the Microsoft Windows 10 instructions to add a printer using the Windows10 embedded driver and restarted the computer. Finally the bprinter works as it should!
best regards from France

I am also happy that the issue is solved now Asmita.
but what I do not understand is: how is it possible that a brandnew HP desktop pc with Windows10 does not work with a HP Envy 4520 series printer when the HP drivers are used. When I operate the printer from an adroid tablet or a HP Windows7 desktop everything works fine.
To use the printer with my Windows10 drivers I need the embedded Microsoft drivers.
I think that something is wrong with the driverpackage I downloaded from HP.
when can we expect updated and functional drivers?
bonne soirée

I tried both several times. I downloaded them from the USA from France and from The Netherlands (I am Dutch living in France) but all with the same result: only printing in grey scale and no automatic duplex printing. as a reminder: it all started when I replaced my empty cartridges with cartridges received from HP.

Thanks for replying. This could be an issue with the compatibility, I'd suggest you reach out to the HP Support in your region regarding this issue, they should be able to help.
Have a great day!
