The printer goes into sleep mode and the only way to wake it up is to unplug from power and then plug in again

Hi @AndyGuts,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It seems like your HP Envy 6120e printer is having trouble waking up from sleep mode. Here are a few things you can try to resolve this issue.

Update Printer Firmware: Ensure that the printer's firmware is up-to-date. Outdated firmware can cause issues like this. You can check for updates via the HP Smart app or on the HP website.

Check Power Settings: Sometimes, power settings on the printer can cause it to stay in sleep mode. Go into the printer's menu settings (usually from the control panel on the printer) and look for power settings or sleep settings. Adjusting the sleep timeout or turning off the deep sleep mode might help.

Disable Eco Mode: Some HP printers have an "Eco Mode" that reduces power consumption by putting the printer into a deeper sleep state. Check the settings to see if this mode is activated, and try disabling it.

Try a Hard Reset:

  • Turn off the printer.
  • Unplug the printer from the power source.
  • Wait for about 60 seconds.
  • Plug the printer back in and turn it on.

Reinstall Printer Drivers: There might be an issue with the printer drivers. Try reinstalling them or updating them from the HP support website.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
