error 59.9 for an hp 200 color laserjet printer. I have already turned the power off and on. No luck. What's next?

⚠️ What Does Error 59.9 Mean?

Error 59.9 indicates an ITB (Intermediate Transfer Belt) motor start error. This means the printer is having trouble initializing one of its internal motors, specifically the one responsible for transferring toner to the paper. 

Official HP Steps to Fix Error 59.9

1. Reset the Printer

  • Turn off the printer using the power switch.
  • Wait at least 30 seconds.
  • Turn it back on and wait for it to fully initialize.


2. Remove Surge Protector

If you're using a surge protector or extension cord:

  • Turn off the printer.
  • Unplug it from the surge protector.
  • Plug it directly into a wall outlet.
  • Turn it back on.

Surge protectors can sometimes interfere with power delivery to internal motors.


3. Check Toner Cartridges

While this error is motor-related, HP recommends:

  • Removing and reseating all toner cartridges.
  • Trying a different set of cartridges if available.
