I have seen the error code 0xb305dff9 twice on the printer display.

The only way I found to clear it was to unplug the power cord.  The power button was unresponsive.

This is a fairly new printer, used occasionally.

What is the source of this and what is the solution?

@halkay9000

I reviewed your post and I understand that you are getting an error on the printer.

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

I recommend you follow the below steps and check if it helps.

  1. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and also unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  2. Remove USB cable, if present.
  3. Wait for 2-3 minutes, press and hold the power button on your printer for about 30 seconds to remove any additional charge.
  4. Now plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector or an extension cord (This is important) and then plug back the power cord to the printer.
  5. Turn on the printer and wait till warm-up period finishes and the printer is idle.

If you continue facing the issue, then follow the steps in the below article and update the printer firmware and test.

The solution in the supplied steps has not resolved the issue.

Following the steps for Updating the Firmware as stated in the HP support link below the above-mentioned solution steps, My printer indicates that the firmware is up to date, version:  MANHTNPP002.2103B.00

This printer has presented 8 of these errors, the 1st on 15 Feb 20212 and most recently four days in a row; 10 thru 13 March 2021.

Please Help,

Again, this is for Model Name: HP OfficeJet Pro 9010 series

My Printer is just over a year old, purchased on 4 Jan 2020 from Costco. It is lightly used in the home, occasional personal use only.

I contacted HP Support as recommended on this problem, eventually got a tech on the phone after 90 minutes. The tech informed me that since my printer is out of warranty.

Clearly, I’m not the only one whose printer of this series has this problem.

To repeat this printer is just over a year old and should not fail like this.

Note: I 1st reported this on 19 Feb 2021  one year, one month, and 16 days after purchase!

This HP was a replacement for a Cannon that while older, (8 years) worked quite well but lacked wifi printing.

I’m very disappointed with HP and this printer and plan to return it to Costco since HP will not do anything to make good on what is clearly a lemon.

Hi @halkay9000,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

As this is a hardware issue, I'd suggest you Contact HP in your region regarding the service options for your computer.

If you are having trouble navigating through the above options, it's most likely because the device is out of warranty. If yes? please send me a private message with the region you are contacting us from. Check next to your profile Name, you should see a little blue envelope, please click on it.

Have a great day!

I have the identical issue and share your frustration with a fairly new and expensive HP printer newly out of warranty now in need of possible hardware replacement which the owners have to pay for. I believe HP products should give me more than one year of functionality. I  too have a 7 year old cannon. Never gave me any issue still don't. Bought the  HP as a technical upgrade. My HP 9110 went out of warranty September 2020, error code 0xb305dff9 started on March 13th. Based on the other individual's identical issue and time frame I think  a HP auto update is the real problem. Anyone got another explanation other than I purchased a expensive lemon?
