Hi @Efren001,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Error code 0xc19a0040 on the HP Officejet Pro 8610 e-All-in-One Printer usually relates to an ink system failure. This error can be caused by issues with the ink cartridges, the printhead, or the printer’s internal components. Here are some steps you can follow to troubleshoot and potentially fix this issue.
Restart the Printer
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Wait for at least 60 seconds.
- Plug the printer back in and turn it on. Check if the error persists.
Check and Reinstall Ink Cartridges
- Open the cartridge access door.
- Remove all the ink cartridges and inspect them for damage, leaks, or poor contacts.
- Clean the electrical contacts on the cartridges with a soft, lint-free cloth.
- Reinstall the cartridges carefully, making sure they click into place.
- Close the access door and check for the error.
Clean the Printhead
- Access the printer’s clean printhead option via the printer’s control panel.
- If this does not resolve the issue, you can try manual printhead cleaning:
- Remove the printhead (if it is removable in your model).
- Clean the copper contacts and the nozzle area with a soft, damp cloth (use distilled water).
- Let the printhead dry completely before reinserting it.
Update Printer Firmware
- Ensure that your printer’s firmware is up to date. Check for updates via the HP website or the HP Smart app.
Perform a Hard Reset
- With the printer turned on, unplug the power cord from the printer.
- Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
- Wait 60 seconds before reconnecting the power cord to the wall and then to the printer.
- Turn on the printer and check if the error is cleared.

Replace Ink Cartridges
- If the error code still persists, try replacing the ink cartridges with new, genuine HP cartridges. Sometimes third-party or refilled cartridges can cause such errors.
Reset the Ink System
- On the printer’s control panel, press the Home button and then tap the Setup icon (usually a wrench or gear icon).
- Navigate to Tools, then select Restore Factory Defaults.
- After restoring the factory settings, the printer will restart, and you can set it up again.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
