Hi @Ricksesk ,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you're dealing with a tricky issue with your HP ENVY Photo 6255. The error code OXB856E646 and the inability to connect to the server can be frustrating.
Here are some steps to troubleshoot the problem:
Check Network Connection:
- Ensure that your printer and computer are on the same Wi-Fi network.
- Verify that other devices can connect to the internet through the same network.
Update Firmware and Software: Update the firmware on an HP printer
- Go to the HP website and check if there is a firmware update available for your printer. Sometimes, updating the printer firmware can resolve connectivity issues.
- Make sure the HP Smart app is updated to the latest version.
Reconfigure Wireless Settings:
- Open the printer’s control panel and navigate to the wireless settings. You may need to reconnect the printer to your Wi-Fi network.
- If you have a wireless network setup through WPS, try reconnecting using that method if your router supports it.
Check Printer's IP Address:
- Ensure that the IP address displayed on the printer matches the IP address assigned by your router. You can check this in the printer’s network settings.
- Try entering the IP address directly into a web browser to access the printer’s web interface. If you can access it, check for any network configuration issues.
Reinstall the Printer:
- Uninstall the HP Smart app and any printer drivers from your computer.
- Restart your computer and printer.
- Reinstall the printer using the HP Smart app or by downloading the latest drivers from HP’s website.
Reset Printer Settings:
- As a last resort, you might try resetting your printer to factory settings. Refer to the printer’s manual for instructions on how to perform a factory reset.
Refer to this document: HP ENVY Photo 6255 All-in-One Printer User manual
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
