I am getting error "supply system protection".
Y - Yellow ink. It was empty on Wednesday, I ordered new cartridge and installed it yesterday.
It is still reading zero Y ink.
I reset printer a few times. I cannot print anything.

Hi @mgmates,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
I understand your HP OfficeJet Pro 9015e printer is showing a “Supply System Protection” error with the yellow ink cartridge. Let’s go through a few steps to check what could be causing this.
Confirm cartridge type
Make sure you are using genuine HP ink cartridges (HP 962 or HP 962XL for this model).
Non-HP or refilled cartridges can trigger supply protection errors.
Reseat the cartridge
Open the ink access door and remove the yellow cartridge.
Gently wipe the electrical contacts with a lint-free cloth, then reinstall firmly until it clicks.
Check for protective tape
Ensure all orange protective tape or plastic covers were removed from the new cartridge.
Even a small piece left on the contacts can block recognition.
Restart printer after reseating
Power off the printer, unplug it for 60 seconds, then plug back in and restart.
This refreshes the supply system check.
Run printer diagnostics
From the printer’s control panel, go to Settings → Printer Maintenance → Print Quality Report.
If yellow is still missing, the printer may not be detecting the cartridge.
Update printer firmware
Use the HP Smart app or printer’s web interface to check for firmware updates.
Updates often resolve supply protection errors with new cartridges.
Try another cartridge if available
If possible, test with a different genuine HP yellow cartridge.
This helps confirm whether the issue is with the cartridge or the printer’s ink system.
I hope this helps.
