Check Connections: Ensure that all cables from the external output device are securely connected to the printer. Loose connections can prevent proper initialization.

Reattach the Output Device: If the device is recognized but not fully attached, realign and reattach it. This can often resolve the initialization error.

Power Cycle: Turn the printer off, wait for a few seconds, and then turn it back on. This power cycle can help clear any temporary errors.
