I had flashing orange warning light on printer, toner was low so I installed a new HP cartridge. But warning light is still flashing, and all I can print is a status report. HP Smart shows 'printer cannot print', which says nothing helpful. The adjacent estimated supply levels ‘icon’ looks empty, though under printer settings the supply is shown as 100%. I have already tried: hard reset of printer; uninstall/reinstall HP Smart; update firmware; HP print & scan doctor. None worked. Any other ideas?

Hi @gms6,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like you've already tried several troubleshooting steps, but let's see if we can find a solution. Here are a few more things you can try.
- Check for Packaging Materials: Sometimes new cartridges come with protective packaging that needs to be removed before installation. Ensure that there are no protective tapes or covers left on the cartridge or inside the printer.
- Clean Cartridge Contacts: Turn off the printer and remove the toner cartridge. Check for any dirt or debris on the contacts of both the cartridge and the printer. Clean them gently with a dry, lint-free cloth.
- Reset the Printer Again: Perform a thorough reset of the printer by unplugging it from the power source, waiting for about 1-2 minutes, and then plugging it back in. This can sometimes clear out any residual errors.
- Check for Firmware Updates: Ensure that you have the latest firmware installed for your printer. Sometimes, firmware updates can address compatibility issues with new cartridges.
- Try a Different Cartridge: If possible, try installing a different toner cartridge to see if the issue persists. This can help determine whether the problem lies with the cartridge or the printer itself.
By systematically going through these steps, you should hopefully be able to resolve the issue with the flashing warning light on your HP LaserJet M110we printer.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
