When I request one copy it will start printing and error message comes up on iPad asking to retry or cancel print as it wants to print a second copy. Why is it doing this? It is annoying as extra prints come out of allowance unless I cancel the print.

Hi @Pearl621,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like your HP ENVY 5530 e-All-in-One Printer is experiencing a glitch that causes it to print more copies than requested. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and hopefully resolve the issue.
- Check Print Settings: Ensure that the print settings on your iPad or computer are set correctly. Sometimes, the default setting might be set to print more than one copy. On your iPad, go to the print menu and confirm that "Copies" is set to 1.
- Update Printer Firmware: Make sure your printer’s firmware is up to date. Visit the HP website and download any available firmware updates for your model. Updating the firmware can resolve many issues.
- Restart Printer and Devices: Power off your printer and unplug it from the wall. Restart your iPad or computer. After a few minutes, plug the printer back in and turn it on.
- Check Printer Queue: Sometimes, print jobs can get stuck in the queue and cause issues. Go to the printer queue on your iPad or computer and clear any pending print jobs.
- Reset Printer Settings: You might want to perform a factory reset on the printer. Refer to the user manual for instructions on how to reset your model.
- Reinstall Printer Software: On your iPad or computer, delete the printer from the list of available printers and then reinstall it. This can resolve any issues related to communication between your device and the printer.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
