Hi @3xthemomma,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP DeskJet 2655 is showing blinking lights on the power button and the tricolor circles (resume and information buttons), it may indicate a communication or hardware issue. Here’s how you can reset the printer to try and resolve the problem.

Basic Reset Steps:

Turn Off the Printer:

  • Disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer.
  • Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.

Wait:

  • Leave the printer unplugged for about 60 seconds. This helps clear any temporary settings.

Reconnect Power:

  • Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
  • Reconnect the power cord to the back of the printer.

Turn On the Printer:

  • Press the power button to turn on the printer.

Check for Errors:

  • Paper Jam: Make sure there’s no paper jam inside the printer.
  • Ink Cartridges: Ensure that the ink cartridges are properly installed and are not low or empty.
  • Alignment: Sometimes, a misalignment can cause issues. Check the cartridge alignment settings in the printer software.

If the Issue Persists:

If the lights continue to blink after the reset, you can perform a more specific troubleshooting method.

Hard Reset (If Available):

  1. Open the Printer Cover: Lift the printer lid to access the cartridges.
  2. Remove the Cartridges:
    • Carefully remove the ink cartridges from their slots.
  3. Wait Again:
    • With the cartridges removed, wait for about 60 seconds.
  4. Reinstall the Cartridges:
    • Put the ink cartridges back in their slots until you hear a click.
  5. Close the Printer Cover:
    • Close the lid and try turning on the printer again.

Update Drivers and Software:

  • Make sure you have the latest drivers and software installed for your printer. You can find these on the HP support website.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
