Hi @Eonica ,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are getting the error code 59.C0 on an HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M281fdw typically indicates a problem with the internal motor of the printer.

Here are some steps you can take to try to resolve this issue:

  • Restart the printer: Turn off the printer, wait for a few minutes, and then turn it back on. Sometimes, a simple restart can clear temporary errors.
  • Check for any obstructions: Open the printer cover and check if there are any obstructions such as paper jams or debris that might be causing the error. Clear any obstructions you find.
  • Check the fuser area: The error might be related to the fuser assembly. Open the rear door of the printer and inspect the fuser area for any signs of damage or obstruction. If you find any issues, you may need to contact HP support for further assistance.
  • Update printer firmware: Ensure that your printer has the latest firmware installed. You can usually find firmware updates on the HP support website. Updating the firmware can sometimes resolve error codes like this. Update the firmware on an HP printer
  • Reset the printer: Perform a cold reset on the printer by turning it off, unplugging it from the power source, and waiting for about 60 seconds before plugging it back in and turning it on again.

59 errors are all related to motor issues. The one you are seeing concerns the developer motor and could be triggered by a cartridge issue or a transfer belt issue. Try removing all cartridges and restarting the printer. If it comes to ready and asks for cartridges, reinstall them one at a time, closing the door and letting the printer prompt you for the next cartridge. If it fails when you install a certain cartridge, then that is going to be the problem and you would need to replace that cartridge. If it fails to start at all without the error then your problem is more serious. Post back what you find.
