how do i unlock HP 7720 to use non hp branded ink cartridges

Hi - is it possible to use replacement non branded HP ink cartridges in the HP officejet Pro 7720? I've recently purchased some from amazon ie 953 compatible cartridges but the printer not recognising and flashing a cartridge problem - 'remove and reinstall the indicated cartridges'.

The equivalent 953 HP replacement cartridge set is c. £129 and this is more than I paid for the printer brand new which is scandalous.

I find this totally unacceptable that HP are looking to extort money for replacement cartridges and underhand they are making it very difficult to use non HP branded replacements

Any advice welcome!

I am sorry you are disappointed.

There is no workaround.

That’s interesting as when I spoke to an HP customer service agent earlier regarding this matter she categorically told me that the printer is not limited to HP ink cartridges but would discourage the use of non HP products due to performance and warranties etc
