This worked, but it has to be done each time I print multiple pages.  Is there a way to make it save the choice?

Following up on what Ramstart wrote:

* I started from the PDF dropdown list

* Clicked  Open PDF in Preview

* Clicked File --> Print

* Un-ticked 2-sided

* In the dropdown list named "Preset", I clicked "Save current settings as Preset"

* And it worked, at last, after 4 years of struggling
