I am trying to set up my old HP Deskjet all in one F4200 so I can print from my new HP Chromebook, via USB cable, everything looks set up correctly, but when I try to print it keeps on giving me error message : cannot print check your printer and try again. When I check the printing history it shows Failed - Printer unreachable.
What do I need to do?

Hi @my4ever,

I understand your HP Deskjet F4200 shows “Printer unreachable” when printing from your Chromebook. Please try these steps:
Check USB connection
Ensure the cable is firmly connected and try a different USB port on the Chromebook.
Avoid using USB hubs or adapters if possible.
Install HP Print for Chrome
Go to the Chrome Web Store and install HP Print for Chrome.
Restart the Chromebook and try printing again.
Add printer in ChromeOS
Go to Settings > Advanced > Printing > Printers > Add Printer.
Select your HP Deskjet F4200 from the detected devices list.
Update Chromebook
Ensure ChromeOS is fully updated, as updates often include printer compatibility fixes.
Test with another device
If possible, connect the F4200 to a Windows/Mac PC via USB to confirm the printer itself is still functional.
I hope this helps.
