We mloved recently to la Gomera (Canarian isle) and there I bought a hp deskjet 1510. It won't print when connected to my lap top, also HP with Windows vista, although it is connected, is on, and is the default printer. I tried everything the print and scan doctor suggested (like switch off fire wall, chekc print ooler, remove and reinstall driver and software etc) and everything else I found in support from HP. it still does not print. When connected to our other lap top, also HP but with windows 7, it works fine. The only thing I managed to print is a diagnostic page but it give only numbers and letters like SN = CN39a19mmp05yr 21 PG =81 12 PER = -5yr 22 FB = 0/0 etc. Tjat does nog help me :-(. does anybody know how to solve this?

( if the printer is connected with USB )
Select "Use Existing Port " then Virtual USB from drop down , Click NEXT, in the Manufacturing list , select HP / Hewlett packard, and from the right pane , select Deskjet 6980 and complete the wizard

Thankyou very much. Helped alot. Printer now works. Who would have guessed that a 1510 wil print on a 6980???? The numbers are so close I must have misunderstood.
Thankyou Jabzi for your help. Now the only problem I need to troubleshoot is half printed words.
Much regards
