My new hp deskjet printer. after one week usage, the black ink printing is not done. but still the ink level shows mere than 50%. Colour printing working without any issue.

Does this happen while copying too?

 

Print a Print Quality Diagnostic page in Windows 8, Windows 7, or Windows Vista.

  1. Load paper into the input tray.

  2. Open or search for the HP folder in your list of installed software programs, click the folder for your printer, and then click the name of your printer.

    The HP Printer Assistant software opens.

  3. On the HP Printer Assistant window, click Maintain Your Printer.

  4. Click the Device Services tab, and then click Print Quality Diagnostics Page ().

Let me know how the black looks on this report.

 

Clean the ink cartridges in Windows 8, Windows 7, or Windows Vista.:

 

  1. Load paper into the input tray.

  2. Open or search for the HP folder in your list of installed software programs, click the folder for your printer, and then click the name of your printer.

    The HP Printer Assistant software opens.

  3. On the HP Printer Assistant window, click Maintain Your Printer.

  4. Click the Device Services tab, and then click Clean Ink Cartridges ().

  5. If the print quality is unacceptable, click Second-level Clean when prompted to continue the next level of cleaning.

    NOTE: 

    If the printhead is badly clogged, it might require another cleaning cycle. If so, wait 30 minutes before you perform both levels of cleaning again.

Thank you for your suggestions. I have checked all the solutions mentioned here. but still blank pae is coming while giving print command in black ink related pages

In the Print Quality Diagnostics Page, there is no blank ink mark or black ink printing

Its happening in copying also. When we take black & white copy, we get only a blank page. If we take colour copy, all the details except in black ink will get perfectly

I recommend you to contact the HP Support Team as this could be a hardware issue.
