error message:  printer is in an error state.     What is the solution?

Hi,

Thanks for using the HP Forums.

 

Have you  tried a Power cycle?  (power off and then power on)

 

Are the cartridges installed properly and not low or out of ink?

 

Also, are there any paper jammed in the carriage area?

Have turned the printer on and off.  No change. 

 

The printer will print the "test" pages, but when attempting to print a page or photo, get the "printer is in an error state" mesage.

 

How can I get rid of the "error" - or how can I find out what the "error" might be?
