Hi @scooter1956,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand how frustrating this can be! Here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue with your HP Envy Photo 7155 printing gibberish from your laptop.

Update Printer Drivers

  • Make sure your printer drivers are up to date. You can do this by going to the HP Support website and searching for your printer model to download the latest drivers.

Check Printer Settings

  • Ensure that the correct printer is set as the default on your laptop.
  • Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners and check if your HP Envy Photo 7155 is set as the default printer.

Use HP Smart App

  • Download and install the HP Smart app from the Microsoft Store (if you haven’t already) to manage your printer settings. It may help troubleshoot connection issues and provide updated drivers.

Clear Print Queue

  • Sometimes, documents stuck in the print queue can cause issues. Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners, select your printer, and click on "Open queue." Cancel any pending documents and try printing again.

Reinstall the Printer

  • Remove the printer from your laptop and reinstall it:
    1. Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners.
    2. Select your printer and click "Remove device."
    3. Restart your laptop.
    4. Re-add the printer by clicking on "Add a printer or scanner."

Check Connection Type

  • If you are using a wireless connection, ensure that both your laptop and printer are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.

Test with Another Application

  • Try printing from a different application (like Notepad or another text editor) to see if the issue persists. This can help determine if the problem is with specific applications like Word or Excel.

Reset the Printer

  • Perform a reset on the printer:
    1. Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
    2. Wait for about 60 seconds.
    3. Plug it back in and turn it on.

Check for Firmware Updates

  • Sometimes, printers have firmware updates that can resolve bugs. You can check for updates through the HP Smart app or the HP Support website.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
