I have an HP OfficeJet 4650.  I kept receiving the message "cartridge problem remove and reinstall" after I installed a new black inkjet cartridge.  Everything inside of the machine was clean and I always used the HP OfficeJet inks .  I tried the hard reset that solved other people's problems.  It didn't help me.  I noticed that bits of color were appearing on the black and white copy that indicated that the color cartridge needed to be changed.  When I changed that it worked.   I hope this information helps somebody.  I was very upset for about a half hour.  Then I looked at the copy I was printing and saw that the color cartridge was low and probably causing the problem in the first place instead of the black cartridge.   I don't know whether or not there is a low ink message that appears but I didn't see one this time.
