New HP Officejet 6700 Premium wireless printer
product number CN583A
Just took it out of the box, set it up,
and got to the point to follow the instructions
on printer control panel to finish setting up printer.
The screen lit up but nothing else happened.
On my lap top the internet connection says
no internet access, but my lap top is working.
Please help. I don't know what to do. I'm not computer smart.

Hi shirleyoz,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums. I understand that you are trying to connect your printer to your wireless network.
Please follow the steps listed below:
- Please connect your laptop back to your home wireless network. If your wireless network has internet access you will now have internet access on your laptop.
-
Let's connect your printer to your home wireless network.
- If your printer is turned off, please turn it on.
- Please tap the wireless icon on the front panel of the printer, this will bring up the 'Network' menu.
- Please choose 'Wireless Setup Wizard' and follow the prompts on the screen. You will need to know the passphrase for your wireless network as the wizard will prompt you to enter it.
- The wireless light on your printer should be a solid blue. This indicates that your printer is now connected to your wireless network.
- Please click on the link below titled 'Installing the Printer Software on a Wireless or Wired (Ethernet) Network'. This has step by step instructions on installing the printer.

Hi Imeagher,
I understand you have an Officejet 6700 that you're having issues adding to your settings. I will certainly do my best to assist you with this issue.
I just want to clarify, what do you mean by you cannot add the printer to your settings?
Are you not able to connect the printer to your wireless network?
Are you not able to install the software on your computer?
What sort of errors are you seeing when trying to add the printer to your settings?
If you could please respond with that information as well as whether you're working with Windows or Mac and I will certainly do my best in assisting you!
Have a good one!!
Click the “Kudos Thumbs Up" on the right to thank me for responding! 🙂
Please click “Accept as Solution ” if you feel my post resolved your issue, as it will help others find the solution faster!

I'm a different person. I'm connected to the internet and can print from my iPhone (which I pretty much never need to do, but it confirms that I'm definitely connected wirelessly). I cannot connect this new 6700 to either of my desktops. I haven't tried the laptop. I have tried to download the software on the XP machine and it gives me error 1114. I have tried to use the HP Windows 7 computer and it "sees" the printer, but won't let me select it as a choice from which to print. HP Connected tells me it's ONLINE but that there is a "Problem with Printer." It says "See display on printer for more information" but there is none. The printer seems to feel fine. Just not talking to the other computers in the house. Can you help?

here is my problem:
I am having problem to connect my HP Officejet (HP-print-C2-Officejet 6700)printer to the internet.
- Problem: when try to the WiFi (wireless) of the printer , before click the ‘connect’ Button, it showed the ‘ ! (((.” (wi-fi wave) it has an mark of a shield and an asterisk mark within the shield in front the wave: (((.. When it was working it did not have the ‘!’ mark with caption “Open’ following it.
- After click the device name and then click the ‘Connect’ button, it comes back with the error code ‘No internet, open’. It still shows there is a shield and a ‘!’ within the shield on top left conner of the (((. WiFi icon.
I have tried:
- Reinstall the printer-driver on my PC.
- completed your step “2. Let's connect your printer to your home wireless network.” Instruction
After completed above two steps correctly, it still not working.
I am using Google as my search engine, PC- DELL ST2410 laptop with Window7 op system.
