Welcome to the HP support community.
Did you make a copy and check if that prints fine?
Meanwhile:-
Print a Print Quality Diagnostic Page
-
Load plain white paper in the input tray.
-
From the printer control panel, open the Setup
menu.
-
Open the Reports or Tools menu.
-
Touch Print Quality Report.
If that does not print fine, follow the steps mentioned in this HP document to fix the issue:- Click here
I hope that helps.

After trying everything from running diagnostics on the PC, to cleaning the printhead, resetting the alignment, manually cleaning the printhead, nearly taking apart my whole printer, I finally got it working - without having to buy a new printer or replace the ink cartridges.
Run the "Clean Printhead" like ten times. At first, I was getting a blank page with three colored bars on it. This kept occuring probably at least 5 times. But, I continued running "Clean Printhead" until it printed the whole diagnostic page and started working.
If that doesn't work, I saw on one acclaimed reply that putting a thin piece of clear tape on the ink cartridge connectors got it working for numerous others! I wanted to avoid manipulating the printer itself so the first solution got mine working again.
