Hello @twinec, Greetings!
Thank you for joining HP Support Forums! I came across the issue you posted and I would like to help you with the best of my knowledge.
You can try assigning a manual DNS address to fix most of the scan to email issues. Try following the steps mentioned below and check:
- Obtain the IP address of the printer – You can touch the “wireless” icon on the printer control panel to obtain the IP address.
- Type the IP address on your web browser to obtain the printer EWS page on your computer.
- Go to the “Network” tab – Click on “Wireless (802.11) – Then click on “Network address (IPv4)
- Click on radio button which says “Manual DNS Server” and under manual preferred type 8.8.8.8 and under manual alternate type 8.8.4.4 (This is Google DNS server address)
- Save the settings. Restart your modem, router and printer.
Let me know how it goes! Good luck 🙂
Cheers 🙂

Hi @twinec, thank you for the reply.
You first need to obtain the IP address of the printer. You can touch the wireless icon on the printer control panel to obtain the IP address. Once you get the IP address, go to your computer. Open a web-browser like “Internet Explorer” or “Google chrome” and type the IP address in the address bar to get the printer EWS page. You can follow the steps mentioned in the above post to assign a manual DNS address.
You can also see an HP YouTube video on assigning a static IP address here: http://hp.care/2cqpl6p
If you have any troubles, let me know and I will do my best to help.
Cheers 🙂

Hello @twinec,
You do not have to do anything on your router.
You have to obtain the IP address from the printer control panel (Printer screen) - Touch the wireless icon to get the "IP address". - Check the fig below:
Once you get the IP address - Come to your PC / computer. Open a browser and type the IP address in the address bar. Check fig:

Click on radio button which says “Manual DNS Server” and under manual preferred type 8.8.8.8 and under manual alternate type 8.8.4.4 (This is Google DNS server address)
Save the settings. Restart your modem, router and printer.
Let me know how it goes.
