Hi @taxme

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

To set up your HP DeskJet 4252e All-in-One Printer and address the issue of the blinking Wi-Fi light, follow these steps:

Initial Setup of the Printer

Unbox the Printer

  • Remove all packaging materials and place the printer on a flat surface.
  • Connect the power cord to the printer and plug it into an electrical outlet.
  • Turn on the printer.

Install Ink Cartridges

  • Open the ink cartridge access door.
  • Wait for the carriage to move to the center.
  • Install the ink cartridges provided with the printer.

Load Paper

  • Pull out the paper tray.
  • Load a stack of paper into the tray and adjust the paper width guides snugly against the paper.

Connect the Printer to Wi-Fi

Ensure Wi-Fi Setup Mode

  • The Wi-Fi light blinking indicates the printer is in Wi-Fi setup mode. If it is not blinking, press and hold the Wireless button on the printer until the Wi-Fi light starts blinking.

Use HP Smart App

  • Download the HP Smart app from the Microsoft Store or HP Smart website.
  • Open the HP Smart app on your Windows 11 computer.
  • Click on Add Printer.
  • Follow the prompts to connect your printer to the Wi-Fi network. The HP Smart app will guide you through the process.

Alternative Method: Using WPS

  • If your router supports WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup), you can use this method:
    • Press the WPS button on your router.
    • Within two minutes, press and hold the Wireless button on the printer until the Wi-Fi light starts blinking.
    • The printer should connect to your Wi-Fi network. The Wi-Fi light will stop blinking and remain solid.

Verify Network Connection

Print a Network Configuration Page

  • From the printer control panel, press the Wireless button and the Information button at the same time.
  • The printer will print a network configuration page displaying the connection status.

Check Connection Status

  • Ensure the IP address displayed on the network configuration page matches your network settings.

Download and Install Printer Driver

Download Printer Driver

  • Visit the HP Drivers and Downloads page.
  • Search for HP DeskJet 4252e and select your operating system (Windows 11).
  • Download and install the appropriate printer driver.

Complete the Installation

  • Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the driver installation.

Troubleshooting Blinking Wi-Fi Light

Ensure Router Compatibility

  • Verify that your router is compatible with 2.4 GHz networks, as HP printers typically use this frequency.

Reconfigure Wi-Fi Setup Mode

  • If the Wi-Fi light continues blinking, reset the printer’s network settings by holding the Wireless button for 20 seconds until it blinks rapidly.
  • Reconnect the printer using the HP Smart app or WPS method.

Firmware Update

  • Check for any available firmware updates by visiting the HP Support Page. Install the latest firmware for your printer.
