Hi @CHRISS893,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP OfficeJet Pro 8135e printer is showing an ink error after replacing the cartridge, here are some steps you can follow to troubleshoot the issue.
Check Cartridge Installation:
- Ensure that the replacement ink cartridge is properly installed. Remove the cartridge and reinsert it, making sure it clicks into place.
Inspect the Cartridge:
- Verify that the replacement cartridge is compatible with your printer model.
- Check for any protective tape or plastic that may still be on the cartridge. Remove any tape before installation.
Reset the Printer:
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Wait for about 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on.
Clean the Cartridge Contacts:
- Gently wipe the copper contacts on the cartridge and inside the printer with a lint-free cloth to remove any dust or residue.
Update Printer Firmware:
- Check if your printer has the latest firmware. You can update it through the HP Smart app or the printer's control panel.
Run HP Print and Scan Doctor:
- Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor from the HP website. It can help diagnose and resolve printer issues.
Check Ink Levels:
- Even if you installed a new cartridge, it’s good to check the ink levels to ensure that they are adequately filled.
Replace with a Different Cartridge:
- If possible, try using a different replacement cartridge to rule out the possibility of a defective cartridge.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
