While isolating at home, I am attempting to scan income tax documents to be filed electronically with my accountant.  When I attempt to do this the printer advises that it is locked by the administrator.  When I use a web browser (Chromium) to access EWS to enable the scanning, it requests a userid and password.  I have used "admin" and blank, my own user-id and the password to the HP site used to register, "admin" and the password to the HP sitre used to register, etc. - no joy.  I have reset to factory default using the menu system on the printer ... still no joy.

 

Any advice / help will be very much appreciated.

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you.

 

We need to perform a Semi-fill reset on the printer that may resolve this issue.

  • The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may corrupt the device.
  • I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.
