HP LaserJet MFP M234dwe Printer

Both my printer, which is an HP LaserJet M234dwe and my iMac running MAC OS 15.3.1 (24D70) with chrome OS Version 134.0.6998.166 (Official Build) (arm64) are connected to the same network and my printer has a steady blue light indicating that it is connected to the network and ready for use. I am unable to add my printer. No printers show up in the dialogue box.

Also, the HP software downloader does not find the printer since I reset my printer system. Prior to resetting the system, the printer did show up in the lists and printing has not been successful. Printer query always comes up with SS ID error and printer not found error.

My Google Chrome recently updated and I did get some sort of pop-up saying that something with the printer would not be supported or something like that prior to that everything was working just fine.

Thank you in advance,

David

Hi @akadbadave,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand you're having trouble connecting your HP LaserJet MFP M234dwe printer to macOS 15.3.1. You're getting a "printer not found" error, and the system keeps asking for the SSID—sorry to hear about the issue.

Please try the basic steps and let me know if this helps. If not, we can move to advanced troubleshooting steps.

Please remove the Cartridges from the Printer if possible, and try a Hard Reset. Do keep us posted to help you better

** Hard reset :
1. Turn the printer on, if it is not already on.
2. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
3. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
4. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
5. Wait at least 60 seconds.
6. Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
NOTE: HP recommends connecting the printer power cord directly to the wall outlet.
7. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
8. Turn on the printer if it does not automatically turn on. The printer might go through a warm-up period. The printer lights might flash, and the carriage might move.
9. Wait until the warm-up period finishes and your printer is idle and silent before you proceed.

HP Smart App: Please uninstall the HP Smart app --> restart the Device, Wi-Fi router and printer --> install it back and add the printer

Firmware Update: Please update the Firmware from the link, This will help with how to update the firmware on the printer or devices.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
