Hi @Dave3295

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP OfficeJet Pro 8130e is accepting print commands from your mobile device but not from your MacBook Pro, it suggests there may be a configuration or connection issue specific to the MacBook. Here's a step-by-step guide to help you resolve this:

1. Check Printer Connection

  • Ensure that your HP OfficeJet Pro 8130e is properly connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your MacBook Pro.
  • Try printing a test page directly from the printer’s control panel to verify that it is connected to the network.

2. Check the Printer's IP Address

  • Open the HP Smart app or the printer's web interface (you can access this by typing the printer’s IP address into your browser).
  • Make sure the printer's IP address is showing correctly and matches the one used by your MacBook to connect.

3. Update Printer Drivers on MacBook

  • Outdated or missing drivers could prevent your MacBook from communicating with the printer.
  • Solution: Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners, find your printer, and click Update Driver if available.
  • Alternatively, download the latest drivers for macOS from the official HP website:
    • Visit HP Drivers for macOS and search for the HP OfficeJet Pro 8130e.
    • Download and install the most recent driver package.

4. Check Printer in System Preferences

  • Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners on your Mac.
  • Make sure your HP OfficeJet Pro 8130e is listed under the available printers.
  • If the printer isn’t listed, click the "+" button to add it.
    • Select your printer from the list and follow the on-screen prompts to add it.

5. Reset Printing System on Mac

  • If the printer is listed but still won't accept print commands, try resetting the printing system.
  • Solution:
    • Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
    • Right-click on the printer list (or control-click) and choose Reset printing system.
    • Once reset, click the "+" button to re-add your printer.

I hope this helps.
