Hi @Chetan57,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like your HP LaserJet Pro MFP M126 is experiencing a significant issue where the display blinks and shows "HP," the attention light blinks, and you can't communicate with the printer from your laptop. Given that you've already tried several troubleshooting steps, here are some more detailed steps to diagnose and potentially resolve the issue:

1. Power Cycle and Reset

Power Cycle the Printer:

  • Turn Off: Turn off the printer using the power button.
  • Unplug: Disconnect the power cord from the printer and wait for at least 60 seconds.
  • Plug In and Turn On: Reconnect the power cord and turn the printer back on.

Perform a Hard Reset:

  • Unplug Printer: Unplug the printer from the power source.
  • Hold Power Button: While unplugged, press and hold the power button for about 15 seconds.
  • Reconnect and Power On: Plug the printer back in and turn it on.

2. Check for Error Messages and Indicators

Review Error Messages:

  • Consult Manual: Check the printer’s manual or HP’s support website for error code meanings. The blinking "HP" and attention light often indicate specific issues.
  • Reset Printer: If the manual provides a reset procedure for error conditions, follow those instructions.

Check Lights:

  • Attention Light: If the attention light is blinking, it usually indicates an issue that needs attention, such as paper jams, low toner, or hardware faults.

3. Check for Paper Jams and Hardware Issues

Inspect for Paper Jams:

  • Open All Panels: Open all access panels and trays to check for any paper jams or obstructions.
  • Clear Jams: Remove any jammed paper carefully, following the instructions in the manual.

Inspect Hardware:

  • Check Toner Cartridges: Make sure the toner cartridges are properly installed and not damaged.
  • Check for Foreign Objects: Look inside the printer for any foreign objects or debris.

4. Update or Reinstall Printer Drivers

Uninstall Existing Drivers:

  • Open Device Manager: Press Win + X and select Device Manager.
  • Find Printer: Locate your printer under Printers or Unknown Devices.
  • Uninstall: Right-click the printer and select Uninstall device.

Download and Install Latest Drivers:

  • Visit HP’s Website: Go to HP’s support website and search for your printer model.
  • Download Drivers: Download and install the latest drivers for your operating system.

5. Check Connectivity

Verify USB Connection:

  • Change Cable: Try using a different USB cable to rule out a faulty cable.
  • Test Ports: Connect the printer to a different USB port on your laptop.

Test on Another Computer:

  • Check with Another Computer: Connect the printer to another computer to determine if the issue is with the printer or the original computer

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.]
