HP ENVY Inspire 7955e All-in-One Printer

“load Paper” error shows in HP Smart. Printer prints test pages as well as from the Pages app on my computer.  Any way to get rid of the error in HP Smart?

If your HP ENVY Inspire 7955e printer is showing a "Load Paper" error in HP Smart, but prints fine from the Pages app and test pages, try the following troubleshooting steps to clear the error:

 

1. Restart HP Smart and Your Devices

  • Close and reopen HP Smart.
  • Restart your computer and printer.
  • Check if the error disappears.

2. Check Paper Settings in HP Smart

  • Open HP Smart.
  • Go to Printer Settings > Preferences or Paper Handling.
  • Ensure the paper size and type match the actual paper in the tray.
  • Save any changes and restart HP Smart.

3. Reload Paper and Reset Printer

  • Remove and reload the paper in the tray.
  • Ensure the paper stack is properly aligned and not overloaded.
  • Power off the printer, unplug it for 60 seconds, then power it back on.

4. Update HP Smart and Printer Firmware

  • Ensure HP Smart is updated to the latest version.
  • Check for firmware updates in HP Smart under Printer Settings > Advanced Settings > Printer Updates.

5. Reset HP Smart App

If the error persists, reset the HP Smart app:

  • On Windows: Go to Settings > Apps > HP Smart > Advanced Options > Reset.
  • On Mac: Uninstall and reinstall HP Smart.

6. Remove and Re-add Printer in HP Smart

  • In HP Smart, remove the printer.
  • Re-add it using “Add Printer”.
  • Restart HP Smart and check if the error is gone.
