Hi
I have an older laserjet M402n which was working perfectly until recently. Now when I try to print I get low memory errors and am unable to print. It happens every time I print one document - then the next one gives low memory. I then can't print anything without switching the printer on and off and even then it doesn't always work. Its a USB connected printer. I've done the whole power cycle thing, uninstalled the drivers and re-installed but these haven't worked. Any suggestions please? I cant afford a new laser printer and I use it a lot for my business so I'm a bit stuck right now. Any help gratefully received!
thanks

Printing from what program or what kind of files? Failure of memory is unlikely as that would most often brick the printer so it is more likely that a program is creating oversized files or driver you are using is not optimized for this printer. Can you please state which driver is actually installed as windows has a habit of installing it's own driver, regardless of what you think is installed. To check driver, on your computer, go to control panel and then right click on devices and printers and select open. Then right click on the icon for your pritner and select printer properties from the drop-down menu. Click on the advanced tab and it will show the name of the driver installed. Please post that.

Hi repairatrooper
thanks for replying. I'm printing from Adobe Reader. All of the files are printed from that software and its always been fine until recently. You're right. Despite downloading the drivers from HP themselves and installing that file, it looks like MS have installed its own drivers for goodness sake. The second image shows the different drivers or something - the top one says the manufacturer is MS and the others say HP. What do I need to do to correct it please. B$$dy MS. grrrr
