The 8610, when turned on, claims "printer failure" with no error code.

A remark states that there's a problem with the printer or the ink system, with no further details. Suggestions given are turning it off and on, or contacting HP. I did all of that and get the same remark.

What can be done?

I had the same issue. I tried all the troubleshooting methods but they didn't work. I decided to install my old HP cartridges and it worked. I had been using aftermarket cartridges all this time until this happened. HP must've updated these printers to reject other ink cartridges which is crazy because I bought a pack of 9 awhile ago. Before I figured this out, I cleaned the printer heads with alcohol on both sides and cleaned and removed the ink cartridge assembly. Now I only get an error to replace low ink cartridges. I hope this solves your issues.

Yep. I replaced the one cartridge it said was the problem and still doesn't work and wants me to replace them all, I'm thinking. Jeez, they are all new or fairly so and show full, including the all-new one. I'm at a loss for what to do next. Really don't want to spend for all new cartridges (4)...figuring might as well buy a new printer!?

Any thoughts from anyone out there? So much appreciate!
