HP LaserJet MFP M140we Printer

after I installed a new toner cartridge, which is not an original from HP, I was asked to install a new firmware.

Shortly after went the printer in the error and shows rd in the display despite several attempts to reset the printer even with HP-Support, nothing changed about the error. Although I have put back the original cartridge in the mean time.

Hi @Guy142,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

1. Reset the Printer

  • Turn off the printer and disconnect the power cord.
  • Wait for at least 30 seconds.
  • Reconnect the power cord and turn on the printer.

2. Reinstall the Original HP Firmware

  • Visit the HP Support Website and navigate to the drivers and firmware section for your printer model.
  • Download the latest firmware for your HP LaserJet MFP M140we.
  • Follow the instructions on the HP support page to properly install the firmware on your printer.

3. Verify and Reinstall HP Toner Cartridge

  • Ensure that the original HP toner cartridge is properly installed.
  • Make sure the cartridge is seated correctly, and the protective tape has been removed from the new toner cartridge.

4. Restore Printer to Factory Settings

  • Access the printer’s settings via the control panel or HP Smart app to perform a factory reset.
  • Navigate to the Setup Menu > Service or Maintenance > Restore Defaults.

I hope this helps.

Hello Kuroi.

Thank you for your suggested solution.
The problem is that I can no longer connect to the printer.
Neither via wifi nor via the usb connection.
Not even when I disconnect the printer from the power supply,

Although I have disconnected the printer from the power supply, i.e. unplugged it for 30 seconds or longer.

I have also long since replaced the non-original toner cartridge with the old, original Go/cartridge.
But no chance. I can no longer access the printer.
It's as if it completely locked up due to the software after I installed the new firmware.
Even HP's telephone support no longer knows what to do.
Actually, I find it impertinent of HP to block my printer in this way.

Best regards
Guy142

Good day. I have the same problem. At first, the printer reported an error and a problem with the cartridge, and after updating and resetting to factory settings, I lost access to the printer.
To connect the printer via WiFi, the HP Easy Start program helped me. But the problem has not yet been solved, because for all requests/commands to the printer, I receive the message "Printer is busy. Repeat the request later."😵
This is just a nightmare. It's incredibly annoying! 😡

Sorry for the errors in the text. I am writing through Google Translate
