my printer has refused to print after the 4th use. it says memory low and then cancels the job.

I  have tried resetting, and looking for the memory to clear it but I can not find that option anywhere. I really need help because I just bought the printer and it is frustrating to not be able to print on a brand new printer. The printer is color jet laserjet pro mfp m182-m185.

Hi @Frustrated12349,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you're experiencing a frustrating issue with your HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M182-M185 series printer. The "memory low" error can indeed interrupt your printing tasks. There are a few steps you can try to resolve this issue based on general knowledge and HP's common troubleshooting advice for similar printer models:

Update Printer Firmware: First, ensure that your printer's firmware is up to date. HP frequently releases firmware updates that can resolve memory management and other issues. You can check for firmware updates by going to the HP Support website, entering your printer model, and following the instructions to find and install any available updates.

Reduce Print Job Size: If the document you're trying to print is very large or has high-resolution images, the printer's memory might not be sufficient to process it. Try printing the document in smaller segments or reducing the resolution of images.

Print from a Different Application: Sometimes, the issue could be related to the software you're using to send the print job. Try printing from a different application to see if the issue persists.

Adjust Print Quality Settings: Lowering the print quality settings can reduce the amount of memory required for a print job. In your printer settings, look for an option to reduce print quality or switch to a draft mode and see if that helps.

Clear Print Queue: Make sure there are no stuck print jobs in your print queue. Sometimes a previous job that didn't print correctly can cause issues with subsequent jobs. You can view and clear the print queue through your computer's control panel or system settings.

Hard Reset: Although you mentioned trying a reset, performing a hard reset might help. Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source for about a minute, then plug it back in and turn it on. This can help clear any errors stuck in the printer's memory.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
