HP Officejet Pro 6968 printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Okay, here is my problem with my printer, Kept getting the error message "clear paper jam". Figuring it to be a software issue, I called HP support ([content removed]) and they talked me through about 30 minutes of issues of which none had helped, the lady said it was a hardware issue. So after doing some research, I was told it was a print head issue. So, I ordered a new one. In the meantime, I watched several videos on how to "dissemble" my printer. I got to the point where I had to remove the "TIMING ENCODER STRIP", and on one end ( left side of the printer) the plastic strip was held by an aluminum pin. As luck would have it, the pin holding the strip came off, and now it remains off because I can't for the life of me figure out how to put it back (scratching my head and watching several videos, all of which didn't help). Seems like that there are no videos of putting the clip back in or putting it in the correct position. So, I am asking the community for suggestions.  Can anyone help out this ignorant fool???? I can't even find any videos of my printer. Closest I got was the HP Officejet Pro 6500.

Did you ever figure it out? If so, can you post pictures?  I wish I had taken a picture before I took it out.

I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details).
